Foundation Form Start, Form End to the Form Container Core Component
A single container replaces the Foundation start and end markers; fields sit inside it. Adobe lists the Form Container Core Component as the replacement for the Foundation Form Start, Form End components, which are deprecated in AEM 6.5.
What changes
- Content between a Form Start and Form End pair must be moved into one Form Container.
- Form actions (store content, email, custom) need checking against what the Core container supports and any custom actions you wrote.
How to migrate
- Create a proxy of the Form Container Core Component in your project under /apps and point templates and policies at it, so future Core Component versions are a one-line change.
- Configure the template policy (allowed options, styles) to match what authors could do before.
- Write a conversion rule that maps existing Foundation content to the new component's properties; Adobe's AEM Modernization Tools apply such rules to content in bulk.
- Run the conversion on a copy of production content, compare rendered pages side by side, then let authors test editing.
