Foundation Form Submit to the Form Button Core Component

Form buttons, including submit. Adobe lists the Form Button Core Component as the replacement for the Foundation Form Submit component, which are deprecated in AEM 6.5.

What changes

  • Submit buttons become Form Button with the submit type.

How to migrate

  1. Create a proxy of the Form Button Core Component in your project under /apps and point templates and policies at it, so future Core Component versions are a one-line change.
  2. Configure the template policy (allowed options, styles) to match what authors could do before.
  3. Write a conversion rule that maps existing Foundation content to the new component's properties; Adobe's AEM Modernization Tools apply such rules to content in bulk.
  4. Run the conversion on a copy of production content, compare rendered pages side by side, then let authors test editing.
