Foundation Experience Fragment to the Experience Fragment Core Component
Places an experience fragment on a page. Adobe lists the Experience Fragment Core Component as the replacement for the Foundation Experience Fragment component, which are deprecated in AEM 6.5.
What changes
- Experience fragments themselves migrate as content; check their templates also use Core Components.
How to migrate
- Create a proxy of the Experience Fragment Core Component in your project under /apps and point templates and policies at it, so future Core Component versions are a one-line change.
- Configure the template policy (allowed options, styles) to match what authors could do before.
- Write a conversion rule that maps existing Foundation content to the new component's properties; Adobe's AEM Modernization Tools apply such rules to content in bulk.
- Run the conversion on a copy of production content, compare rendered pages side by side, then let authors test editing.
