Removal planned (tentative) 31 December 2027

org.json and org.apache.sling.runmode on AEM as a Cloud Service

Both packages are on Adobe's removal list with a tentative date of 31 December 2027. Adobe recommends the Apache Johnzon implementation of javax.json instead of org.json.

What to use instead

javax.json for JSON. For environment-specific behaviour, put values in run-mode-specific OSGi configuration folders instead of checking run modes in code.

How to fix it

1. Replace org.json usage as for Sling Commons JSON.
2. Replace SlingSettingsService / runmode checks with an OSGi configuration property set per environment.
