Not supported on Cloud Service

Replacing the AEM uber-jar with aem-sdk-api

Swapping the dependency is a quick, high-value first step: anything that no longer compiles uses an API that Cloud Service does not export.

What to use instead

com.adobe.aem:aem-sdk-api at the version matching your target release, plus the AEM Analyser Maven plugin in the build.

How to fix it

  1. Replace the uber-jar dependency in the parent pom.
  2. Add the aemanalyser-maven-plugin.
  3. Fix compile errors and analyser findings.

AEM 6.5

<dependency>
  <groupId>com.adobe.aem</groupId>
  <artifactId>uber-jar</artifactId>
  <version>6.5.21</version>
  <scope>provided</scope>
</dependency>

Cloud Service

<dependency>
  <groupId>com.adobe.aem</groupId>
  <artifactId>aem-sdk-api</artifactId>
  <version>${aem.sdk.api}</version>
  <scope>provided</scope>
</dependency>

How we detect it

  • Readiness scan rule uber-jar: AEM uber-jar dependency.

Can agents fix it?
